What Is Astrology?
Astrology originally came out of a study of astronomy. All ancient cultures have looked to the stars to find meaning and to understand their connection and place in their world, solar system or universe. They knew at an intuitive level that we were undeniably part of nature, incorporating cosmic and universal law involving planets and stars. They knew that the position of planets and stars and the Sun and Moon were interwoven with the seasons, fertility and crops. Hence many ancient cultures worshipped the Sun, Moon, stars and elements of nature and noticed repeatable patterns and cycles. The ancient cultures that have used astrology are many : India, Tibet, China, Egypt, Babylonia, Mayas and Incans, Greeks, Romans, Celts and Germans and many more.
What Is A Horoscope?
An astrology horoscope chart for an individual is a map of the planets and their positions at the moment of birth, over the place of birth, that is divided into twelve houses and horoscope or star signs.

Today through science we know that all matter is made up of the same elemental building blocks of matter. What is the Rising sign?
The rising or ascendant sign in a astrology chart, is the horoscope sign that is on the horizon at the moment of your birth. This gives the main presenting character of the person according to Vedic astrology.
As the earth revolves on its axis completely each 24 hours, the rising sign changes every two hours. Therefore over one place on earth in one day, babies will be born in any of the twelve rising signs, according to the time of their birth. This means that two people born on the same day at different times in the same or different places, will almost definitely have quite different personalities and life path.
